Chapter 1153 — Book 2: Chapter 350: Nameless (1)
13 min read ·
“Haha-”
Alberu Crossman leisurely laughed.
“Basically, this situation right now-”
He was finally able to hear clearly about everything that had happened to Cale.
He then arrived at an answer.
This situation right now-
“You're saying it's a shitshow.”
“That is correct, your highness.”
It could not be helped.
“Your highness, is your butt not cold?”
Crown prince Alberu Crossman.
Despite Cale getting off the throne, Alberu decided to sit down on the ground looking up at the throne.
Cale couldn’t help but be wary at how Alberu was not acting like his usual self.
The normal Alberu Crossman…
‘He would smile cheekily and say something like-
Haha, my little dongsaeng. You didn’t need to do that for me. What, are you saying this spot is for me? You’re going to give me the Seventh Evil?
He should be saying things like that.’
Alberu Crossman had changed a bit in the time he had not seen him.
“Haha-”
‘Just look.
He's still laughing despite calling it a shitshow!’
Cale scowled.
– Human! There’s something missing in the way the crown prince is laughing!
‘Exactly!
He looks like he had a spiritual awakening or something!’
“Ha-”
The crown prince stopped laughing at that moment.
He then looked at Cale and nonchalantly commented.
“Okay. Let’s say it is a shitshow.”
The shitshow created by the World of the Gods, the Demon World, and the Hunters.
Alberu’s gaze sank down.
“My little dongsaeng, you look like a scarecrow these days.”
A smile instantly formed on Cale's face.
The throne.
Cale walked down from the altar with the luxurious seat.
Plop.
He then plopped down on the ground right in front of Alberu.
He then spoke in a relaxed voice.
“It looks that way to you too, your highness?”
Cale had destroyed the Black Bloods, Blue Bloods, and Purple Bloods until now.
He had a plan to land a blow on the Demon World as well.
He also wouldn’t take a beating at the hands of the gods either.
Nonetheless, despite that…
“It’s probably annoying.”
The sentence Alberu said with an elegant smile on his face made Cale answer with a single answer.
“Yes, your highness. It is annoying.”
There was only one fundamental reason Cale did all these things.
Peace for himself and those around him.
He thought that he couldn't let the Hunters do as they pleased in order to reach that goal, which was why he decided to face them.
That was when it started.
He heard Alberu’s voice.
“It’s clearly your own choices, but it must have oddly felt like you were dragged by others and the situation more than your own will, right?”
It was different from how it was with the White Star.
Yes, he was dragged around during that time as well, but…
That was just the situation.
"Whether it is the World of the Gods, the Demon World, or the Arbitrators… It is plainly visible that they are trying to use my little dongsaeng for their own benefit. Isn't that right?”
Alberu Crossman continued to laugh as if he was amused.
"The worlds, the God of Death… Neither of them are your friends in the end. You know that.”
The worlds had dragged Cale in to save their world.
It seemed like cooperation, but traveling through dimension was something that was impossible without the God of Death's help.
He was receiving many things as rewards, but…
Alberu commented as if he saw right through the faint emotion oddly building up inside Cale.
"Allies and friends are different.”
The God of Death and the other gods… The worlds like Xiaolen and Central Plains…
They were all allies, but…
‘They are not my friends.’
Cale started to think.
Even if there were people all over the place he could communicate well with…
Alberu Crossman.
None were at this guy’s level.
‘That must be why we decided to be hyung and dongsaeng.
This guy is just like me.
One of the fundamental things we were born with are the same.
That must be why he understands me so well.
I called his highness to be able to chat like this with someone.’
Cale and Alberu made eye contact.
Alberu spoke to the quietly listening Cale.
“Isn’t that why you wanted to see me in the game instead of through the divine item or a video communication device? You wanted to chat without anybody else’s gaze.”
A space where the God of Death, Aipotu's foundation and many other gazes could not reach them.
That space was this New World.
Of course, a system that maintained New World existed, but the system could not fully assess the Seventh Evil.
This could be a hypothesis, but it was almost guaranteed.
‘That must be why Neo tried to pull in his subordinates from the outside world, Aipotu, right before the large update.’
If the system, which was wary of outside interference, knew about it, it would not let it be.
The New World system was not omnipotent.
It was a world with numerous holes.
Transparent Bloods. They should have purposely left those holes, these openings.
‘The world is still being created.’
From the omnipotent god to the things after that…
They could not make everything in the game perfect to prepare for many different variables.
Cale organized his thoughts and opened his mouth after a while.
“You looked annoyed too, your highness.”
Alberu had an odd smile on his face as he shook his head.
He was smiling.
“Yeah. I'm annoyed too.”
The smile was too elegant.
"Very.”
Yes. It was an extremely annoyed smile.
Cale, who clearly knew this, asked.
It was time to hear his story now.
“Why?”
Alberu sighed rather than getting annoyed at this almost disrespectful question.
“You mentioned that Ahn Roh Man is scheming something. Is that what is causing you trouble, your highness?”
Alberu had even dodged Ahn Roh Man’s eyes while coming to the Seventh Evil.
Cale asked knowing that was the case, and Alberu showed his annoyance.
"Do you not know me at all?”
“No. I know you. I know you very well, your highness.”
Cale calmly answered.
“No matter how much Ahn Roh Man tries to fly or crawl, you are not someone who would get so annoyed by that one thing.”
Even if Ahn Roh Man was the top ranker in this game and was the president of Earth 3's Roan…
He was just a single person.
Alberu was not someone who would be scared of a single individual.
Rather than being annoyed, he was the type who would cheekily smile, being interested in how he would step on top of that person.
“Huuuuuu.”
Raon approached the sighing Alberu.
“Hey crown prince! I don't know what's causing you to be like this, but cheer up!”
Raon pulled something out of his spatial pocket bag and pushed it toward Alberu.
“Eat this! Hey crown prince, don’t you like this too?”
It was the cookies from the royal palace that Alberu had given Raon.
Alberu saw this and chuckled before politely answering Raon.
“Thank you very much, Raon-nim. Your consideration is as vast as your greatness.”
“Heh.”
Raon’s wings fluttered and his chubby cheeks twitched.
“Hey crown prince! I have always been a nice Dragon who is great and mighty! No need to say something so obvious!”
He then slowly flew over to Alberu's side and placed his face on Alberu’s lap.
Alberu naturally rubbed Raon’s smooth back and opened the cookie box.
Chomp.
He placed a cookie in his mouth and explained.
"I am worthless here.”
‘Hmm?’
Raon tilted his head.
“Excuse me?”
Cale asked back.
“Haha.”
Alberu laughed and said it again.
“I'm treated as a loser wherever I go.”
Cale subconsciously commented.
“Why?”
“What?”
“Why are you worthless, your highness?”
‘Seriously. He’s not someone who would live like that.’
Cale became concerned.
“Didn't you say that you were set as a rising newbie and had to go out in a battle of the strongest?”
CRUNCH.
It was not a gentle bite.
Alberu's cookie biting became a loud crunch.
Raon twitched while Cale flinched.
Alberu crunched on the cookie and his expression turned brighter.
He opened his mouth once he finished eating the cookie. Of course, his hand was heading toward another cookie.
“Still, I'm just a newbie. The battle of the strongest is among the newbies.”
CRUNCH!
The crunch became even rougher.
Raon slowly moved to Cale’s side.
“My little dongsaeng, you still don’t know too much about New World yet, right?”
Alberu ate the cookie extremely elegantly.
He didn't drop a single crumb and waited until he finished eating the cookie before he spoke.
CRUNCH!
It was just that the sound of the new cookie breaking was quite serious.
“Yes, your highness. I don't know.”
He should be polite at times like this.
Cale decided to be a vassal who was not disrespectful.
“Of course, I know the general basis of things.”
“Yeah. I'm sure. My little dongsaeng would obviously have figured out that much.”
He smiled.
CRUNCH!
“I received a quest telling me to become the Emperor.”
To be more accurate…
[Become the first ever Dark Elf Emperor!]
That was the name of the main quest.
"But this is not a quest that only one person receives.”
‘Hmm?’
Cale's eyes looked confused.
“After this large-scale update, users will be able to create kingdoms.”
“Yes, your highness. You told me about that last, ah!”
Cale soon figured out the answer.
“Multiple people received it?”
“Yeah. It's not a quest given to everyone though. However, based on the information Ahn Roh Man and I gathered, multiple people seem to have received this quest.”
“Mm.”
"And the quest details seem slightly different.”
The large picture was the same but the quests were all slightly different.
“You mean like how yours is ‘first Dark Elf’ for example, your highness?”
“Yeah. Each user’s situation makes the quest slightly different, but…”
“In the end, the quest is to create their own kingdom or Empire.”
“Yeah.”
The end results were the same.
“There are at least three people in the user community who are known to have received this quest. The quest wasn't originally known until these three people shared it with people.”
That was the reason Alberu was able to figure out this situation only moments before the large-scale update.
“I'm sure they were all extremely strong people.”
“I'm sure they’ve also done a ton of preparations as well.”
Cale and Alberu made eye contact.
The three who revealed themselves…
Cale could tell something about these people even without hearing who they were.
He wasn't saying that because he knew who they were.
“They are either so strong that they don't mind others knowing about them having this quest…”
They were confident enough that people won’t be able to mess with them even if they found out about this quest.
Or-
“Either that, or it is a warning.”
I'm trying to do this so don’t get in my way.
Otherwise, let’s fight.
“Correct. As for me, I hid it.”
‘Because I'm weak.’
Alberu kept that line to himself.
Cale could tell what he was thinking even without hearing it.
“…Your highness.”
However, Cale’s face did not look good for a different reason.
“Is the scheme that Ahn Roh Man is hiding-”
“Yeah. I've been thinking this whole time that he was hiding something, but… I couldn’t tell what it was at all.”
However, after learning about that information, Alberu had to act today while avoiding Ahn Roh Man’s gaze.
“He’s never told me that he’s received such a quest, but… He’s the top ranker. Do you really think he would not have received the quest?”
“I wouldn’t trust that at all.”
“Yeah. I can't trust him.”
Alberu mumbled in a low voice.
"Because he is an ally and not a friend.”
A temporary ally at that.
“…….”
Cale observed the silent Alberu for a bit before speaking.
“He is an ally but there is an odd sense of who is higher and lower I'm guessing?”
Those casual words gently reached Alberu’s ears.
“Ha.”
He let out a sigh-like laugh before nodding his head.
“Yeah. There is. My little dongsaeng knows very well.”
“That must be why you called yourself worthless. Our great highness, our sun, calling himself worthless.”
Alberu scoffed before continuing with a serious look on his face.
“None of my powers work in this place. Honestly speaking, it is almost impossible for me to become the first ever Dark Elf Emperor. If Ahn Roh Man-”
“If he also received a quest to become the Emperor, we would be lucky if he didn't stab us in the back.”
"Correct.”
The two of them rarely had their conversation cut out because they did not understand what the other was trying to say.
In fact, their issue was that they knew each other too well.
“I presume this large-scale update is to give users the chance to create their own kingdoms, but… It will lead to the game world getting louder.”
“That is correct. The Transparent Bloods would use that opening to slowly fulfill their desires.”
“That’s right. That should be why the God of Chaos is splitting the World of the Gods in half to scheme as well.”
“They are most likely planning to create the omnipotent god while there was a lot going on in New World.”
The two of them closed their mouths after having bounced each other for a while.
“…….”
“…….”
Crunch, crunch. Raon cautiously ate a cookie.
Alberu heard the noise and resumed speaking.
"Ah, it's so annoying.”
“It is, your highness. It is very annoying.”
The two of them did not look at each other.
They both looked up at the sky as they spoke.
“My little dongsaeng. Let me use what you have.”
“Hyung-nim, please become the hero and save New World.”
The two of them looked at each other.
Cale smiled as he spoke.
“We can’t let them take us down like this.”
Cale was slowly getting annoyed at this situation where he was oddly dragged around.
Alberu also wanted to get out of this frustrating situation where he, as a newbie, was by the top ranker’s side.
“There’s naturally no reason to drag this situation out.”
Alberu elegantly smiled before speaking.
“Let’s flip it over.”
It was now time to move as they wished and set things up rather than because it was someone else's will or methods.
New World.
This new world, as implied by the name, had to become their own little place without the enemies and their temporary allies. Both Cale and Alberu knew that the time had come for that.
If that happened, they would be the ones to lead the situation.
He pointed at himself.
Turn it upside down.
“Me, under the sun.”
He then pointed at Cale.
“You in the shadows.”
Some people would get angry if they were told to stay in the shadows, but…
Alberu was tilting his head slightly to one side while gently answering with a refreshing smile on his face.
“Isn’t that the picture my little dongsaeng wants?”
“Haha-”
Cale laughed out loud before answering.
“How do you know me so well, your highness?”
The two of them did not extend their hands out to each other.
Crunch. Crunch.
Instead, he ate a cookie.
Raon, who had been watching, shouted with joy.
“Then will you be the Emperor and hero in this place, crown prince?”
Crunch.
"And our human will rule over all Eight Evils?”
Crunch.
Cale and Alberu opened their mouths.
“You truly are great and mighty, Raon-nim.”
“You truly are great and mighty.”
“Hehe!”
Raon laughed.
Three days later, the large-scale update of Raising my very own precious omnipotent god, an update that would create a new playing field in the game, an update that millions of users were waiting for, started.
The fact that a chaotic time would start as people took their ‘great first steps’ after the update was something that will happen a bit later in the future.
