Chapter 1160 — Book 2: Chapter 357: The amusement of the greatest of all evils (3)

– Human, should I stay invisible?
“Yeah.”
As Cale looked up in the air and answered, On and Hong jumped up the walls on either side.
Clack.
The egg twitched and Cale tapped it to be quiet.
“…….”
The egg, the Dragon half-blood, someone who had lived the longest in the group after Eruhaben, became quiet.
Not only did he have a flower patterned baby carrier-
The egg was also wrapped in a flower patterned cloth.
Cale turned his gaze and looked up into the air again.
– Human, human.
Raon talked to him again.
– Why am I the only one invisible?
Cale easily answered.
“You are strong so we can't let them see you.”
– !
It became silent.
– Ahem, ahem!
He could hear Raon’s happy whistling.
– Well, if it is for that kind of reason, it is fine! I am a great and mighty Dragon so I will stay in hiding temporarily!
He managed to console Raon.
Cale then calmly started walking.
Tatada-
Tatap-
On and Hong followed right behind him on either side as if they were his knights.
Breeze, the Western Empire.
It was one of the three strongest forces in New World, one of the only two Empires on the continent.
– human, did you say that we are heading to the inn first?
The three strong forces.
The Land of Knights, The Eastern Lienti Empire.
The Land of Art, The Western Breeze Empire.
The Land of Training, The Northern Lan Kingdom.
‘Art?’
He recalled Rosalyn's reaction when hearing about the three strong forces.
She focused on the ‘art’ portion before finally speaking after a while.
‘This may actually be the strongest of the three.’
Cale didn’t deny that.
‘Oh greatest of all evils! Please let me explain about Breeze!’
The Heinous Dark Bear delivered information about Breeze to Cale.
‘All of New World’s art started in Breeze!’
Even that wouldn't do it justice as the Breeze Empire was where music, art, culture, and all sorts of different forms of art thrived.
Starting from the nobles to the commoners…
Each level had their own unique cultural development and the citizens of the Empire all held significant pride for their Empire’s culture and art.
It was to the point that even the nobles did not hesitate to invest significant amounts of money to maintain the arts of the commoners.
Ahn Roh Man had told them something as well.
‘Breeze has a lot of artists from the real world as well.’
The reason was simple.
‘Breeze respects the art of the foreigners, what they call the game users, as well. In fact, they show a significant amount of goodwill to them.’
That was how open-minded people were in the Breeze Empire.
Then did that mean that they were weak?
‘Culture is ruled by Breeze.’
There were many rumors that the upper echelons of other nations were trying their best to catch up to the culture of the Breeze nobles.
Ahn Roh Man had said the following.
‘Culture becomes money.’
Breeze was even wealthier than the merchant alliance kingdom that was one of the mid-level forces.
Ahn Roh Man had then added on.
‘Money can create even power.’
The Breeze Empire invested quite a bit of money in ‘power’ so that they could protect their culture.
“This is different-”
Cale could see more of the Breeze Empire’s capital, Anne, as he left the alley and headed toward the center of the city.
There were art studios, music conservatories, and artists alliance guild buildings all around them.
He could also see the diverse individualities and beauty of the different streets.
Some were luxurious, some elegant, some lively…
The individuality of each street flowed out.
‘This is the place where most quests are given.’
The plethora of individuality also led to all sorts of incidents and accidents, making the users call Breeze the quest storage.
“Meeeeeow!”
On hit Cale’s leg.
Cale looked toward the direction On was pointing.
– Human!
Raon shouted in shock.
– There are so many temples!
Religion was something that could not be separated from culture.
Breeze allowed all religions.
That was why their capital, Anne, had the temples of all sorts of religions.
‘But the capital is still not chaotic. That means that Breeze has enough power to be called one of the three strong forces.’
Cale thought deeply about Ahn Roh Man’s assessment.
– Human, that one is supposedly the Temple of Joy! Next to that is the Temple of Abundance- uhh, uhh!
Raon became flustered.
Cale flinched as well.
“Meeeeeow!”
“Meeow!”
On and Hong stuck right next to Cale.
“You damn abundant motherfuckers! This area is our great Temple of Joy's property! Get those wheat out of there!”
“What did you say, you always laughing motherfuckers?! We are so rich and have so much stuff that we accidentally spilled over to your property. What’s the fuss? Fuck joy, your god must be super petty!”
“What? You're just a damn glutton who shoves food in his mouth all day everyday!”
“What? This bastard!”
The low-ranking priest from the Temple of Abundance threw his large body forward. The low-ranking priest from the Temple of Joy quickly dodged and swung his fist at him.
– Uhh, mm.
The Super Rock subconsciously mumbled.
– Is this okay?
‘I know, right?’
Some people walked past him as he blankly watched.
They were users.
“Oh! Hey, I think a quest is about to pop up over there! Let's go check it out!”
“I'm going to get a quest from the Abundance side!”
The users excitedly ran over, hoping that some quests will pop up.
Piiiiiriiiiii-riiiriiiiriii-piiiiii-
A musician on the street got some inspiration and started to play his flute.
The artists on the street just ignored the chaos.
– Is this okay?
As the Super Rock asked again…
– What is it? What’s the issue?
The glutton priestess.
– That’s how kids grow up.
The Sky Eating Water calmly answered.
– I see.
The Super Rock accepted it.
One was a priestess and the other was the Water of Judgment who worked for the God of War at one point in time.
– …Human.
Raon spoke in a low voice.
– This place is weird.
‘I know, right? It is weird.’
Cale was already feeling tired as he headed toward the inn the Dark Bear told him about.
Ring.
Cale walked into the inn and nonchalantly addressed the owner.
“Please give me a room. A decent middle room. I think I will be here for about three days.”
“Of course! This girl here will help you to your room!”
The owner smiled brightly and was extremely nice as he explained a lot of things to Cale. A little girl came up to Cale. This child would help him to his room.
“Right this way, sir!”
Cale followed the girl up the stairs.
The first floor was a restaurant.
The other floors were all rooms.
“Is this your first time in the Breeze Empire’s capital?”
The little girl asked and Cale nodded his head with a warm smile on his face.
“Yes. It is my first time.”
The little girl resembled the owner quite a bit. She was probably his daughter.
“I see! It is beautiful but kind of chaotic, isn’t it?”
“Haha, it is.”
The little girl peeked around Cale.
“Sir, you must be a tamer?”
“Meeeeeow!”
Hong raised his head and haughtily walked.
Cale smiled dubiously at her question.
“Maybe?”
On walked over to the little girl and rubbed her body against her leg.
“Wow!”
The little girl was amazed.
Soft fur and brightly sparkling eyes…
On and Hong were extremely haughty but beautiful kittens.
“Come here.”
Cale called to them and On and Hong walked back over to him.
The little girl opened the door to the room and handed the key to Cale as she gasped in admiration.
"This is my first time seeing a tamer! Sir, you're so cool!”
Cale smiled gently and the girl asked with a bright expression on her face.
“The fact that animals follow you like this must mean that you are a good person, right? I'm so happy that a good person came to stay in our inn! I hope you make some wonderful memories during your stay!
Ah!”
The girl then looked around.
She then cautiously whispered to him.
“Umm, a lot of foreigners stay at our inn. Most of them are good people, but you know how things are these days, right sir?”
"What are you talking about?”
Cale asked as if he didn't know anything.
“You don’t know about it?!”
The girl became shocked and Cale answered with a slightly clueless look on his face.
“I don’t. To be honest with you, I just got here from the countryside. There is a lot that I don’t know about. Even back home, I just trained in the forest all day.”
– You're lying so naturally now!
He ignored Raon’s comment.
“Oh dear. I see.”
She looked at the modest clothes that made Cale seem like a beginner adventurer and then approached closer to whisper to Cale.
“Lately, some foreigners have been causing a lot of issues. So it would be best if you are careful. There are some scary organizations as well.”
A bitter smile formed on the girl's mouth.
“This used to be the city of romance, but I feel like the romance is disappearing a bit these days.”
Cale listened to everything she said with a serious look on his face before nodding his head.
“I see. So, how much do I owe you for the information?”
It became silent.
The little girl's eyes looked into Cale’s.
The Heinous Dark Bear.
That guy had reaches in quite a lot of places within the Eight Evils.
Such a bear had introduced Cale to this inn.
What kind of inn would it be if the evil ones knew about it?
It should, at minimum, not be a good place.
"What the, you’re one of us?”
The little girl scoffed.
“I really thought you were some clueless country bumpkin.”
The little girl shrugged her shoulders, laughed, and answered.
"This information is free. Ask my daddy if you have any questions.”
“Is he really your dad?”
“Why do you ask?”
Cale smiled as well as he addressed the girl.
"Because you are the boss.”
The smile disappeared from the girl's face.
Cale calmly continued to speak.
There are two paths to approach the evil spirit of the Sixth Evil. The first way is to personally enter hell in the Sixth Evil. The other one-”
Cale looked down.
The little girl did not have a shadow.
“Approaching one of the stealthy shadows that the evil spirit possesses.”
The little girl's face turned cold.
The name of this inn was ‘Moonlight Shadow.’
Its true identity was an information network set up by the master of the Sixth Evil, the Stealthy Evil Spirit.
‘Normally, the users would notice that the girl does not have a shadow and approach her to gain a quest to approach the Sixth Evil.’
A game quest would probably proceed like that.
However, Cale was not a user.
The little girl asked Cale a question.
“Who are you associated with?”
Cale smiled gently again at that question.
Cale had become a mid-level NPC.
And Cale had tested a few things with the teddy bear before coming here.
‘Oh greatest of all evils. As long as you don’t reveal your true identity, users and regular NPCs should not be able to figure it out, my liege.’
‘However, as your disposition is evil, if you visit a location that is incompatible with your disposition, the opposing group may notice it.’
He had also learned some secrets and restrictions.
Thanks to that, Cale was able to pretend to be a tamer or another existence as he was doing right now.
“I asked who you are associated with?”
The little girl asked with her face still stiff.
Peek.
Cale peeked to see a shadow slowly starting to form around her feet.
He opened his mouth to speak.
“The Seventh Evil.”
He then recalled something else the teddy bear told him.
‘Oh greatest of all evils! I think the Sixth Evil is best to try to take after the Third Evil and the Seventh Evil! Because, based on what I have felt during this investigation, the evil spirit of the Sixth Evil seems to be a mutant! She seems to be like me, my liege!’
While catching the tail of the God of Chaos…
Might as well make some connections with the Sixth Evil.
Cale was planning on doing two things at once.
“Ah. That fairy tale?”
The little girl's shoulders slumped.
“No wonder. I thought it was funny you had cats with you and looked so clueless. It makes sense if you guys are from fairy tales.”
She let out a sigh and answered.
However, a shadow was still slowly forming at her feet.
The girl was still suspicious of Cale.
“Then how, ah. I guess how isn’t important since I can get out like this as well.”
The little girl shook her head.
“I heard that a lot of guys were coming out of the Eight Evils this time.”
The Great Footstep.
One of the changes in the large-scale update was the one regarding the Eight Evils. As a result, NPCs from the Eight Evils were spreading all around the continent to hand out quests.
“Why did you come out? And why did you come to find me?”
“I just stopped by here. My goal is elsewhere.”
Cale peeked at the slightly larger shadow.
‘Information the shadow receives goes to the evil spirit.’
He thought about the teddy bear's words and threw some bait out.
“What is your goal?”
“The Temple of the Sun God.”
“…What?”
The little girl's face filled with shock.
It was a completely unexpected situation.
Cale walked over to her. Cale quietly whispered as the little girl flinched.
“There are some rats hiding in the Temple of the Sun God.”
He was talking about the priests of the God of Chaos.
Cale looked down at the largely fluctuating girl's shadow as well as a newly appearing shadow as he said that.
These words should reach the Sixth Evil.
And if that Sixth Evil really is a mutant and knows the truth about this world just like Count Ruiphe and the teddy bear…
“Those damn rats are trying to destroy this world.”
They would definitely contact Cale or the Seventh Evil no matter what it took.
Cale quietly said something that did not suit someone from the Eight Evils, the place known for its dreadful villains.
“And I plan on saving this world.”
The way Cale was gently smiling like Alberu made him really look like a beginner adventurer.
* * *
That night…
Cale walked out of his room at the inn and started to walk.
He was headed toward the Temple of the Sun God.
While the sun was sleeping and the moon was awake…
This was the best time to sneak into the Temple of the Sun God.
“Meeeeeow!”
“Meeow!”
– Human, why are you wearing the Arm outfit?
Cale was wearing the Arm exclusive black outfit underneath his baggy robe.
For some odd reason, he felt good whenever he wore it.
* * *
Paat!
“Mm.”
The back alley where Cale first appeared in Anne…
A person appeared in that spot.
It was a person wearing a black mask and black outfit.
“…He told me not to talk.”
Choi Han was walking with his mouth tightly closed.
He too was wearing the ‘Arm’ exclusive outfit.
For reference, the ‘Secret Association of the God of Chaos’ was now ‘Arm.’
