Chapter 1187 — Book 2: Chapter 384: The Birth of Evil (1)

Raon's cheeks were puffy.
“Raon.”
“…….”
He didn’t answer.
“…….”
His puffy cheeks became even puffier.
“…….”
Raon took a deep breath to puff his cheeks, which made Raon’s feelings clear.
“…….”
Next to him was Hong, who was curled up like wet paper.
“Wow.”
The Heavenly Demon gasped.
He read two emotions in Cale's face as he looked at Hong and Raon.
‘He even ignored the wanderers, but-’
Seeing these two sulking kids made Cale feel annoyance and urgency.
‘This guy is in a pretty difficult spot right now.’
Neither wanderers nor gods seemed hard compared to the sulking eyes of these two kids.
“Haha-”
The Heavenly Demon laughed.
He then realized that something was weird.
“…….”
‘What is going on?’
What was the current situation?
“…….”
The Heavenly Demon realized that everybody else, Choi Han, Rosalyn, and even Albert looked as if this was an awkward spot for him.
Everybody except for him was getting anxious watching the two kids sulk.
‘Huh?’
He couldn't believe it.
The Heavenly Demon couldn’t help but become anxious.
They were not in the inn from before now.
‘The Dark Pulse.’
The Dark Pulse was one of the Lan Kingdom's five major, no, now four major forces since the Cooperative Alliance was ruined.
This was the inner residence where the Dark Pulse's leader, Pao Seo Tae, used to reside.
Cale's group needed a place to stealthily stay since the Heavenly Demon's appearance was now well-known. Pao Seo Tae, who had Choi Han as his guard for a while, had offered them this residence.
It was the reason Cale's group was able to leave the children averaging ten-years-old and Rosalyn here before heading to the palace without any worries.
Otherwise, the people who saw the wanderer’s fight against the Heavenly Demon would have come to their inn, putting the children averaging ten-years-old and Rosalyn in quite the cumbersome situation.
“…….”
Anyway, what greeted them when they got there was Raon, whom Rosalyn had contacted in advance.
Cale asked Raon a question.
‘Where is Eden Miru?’
That was what made Raon like this.
Hong, who trotted out after Raon, became silent after hearing the same question.
“…Hey.”
Raon opened his mouth at that moment.
“Yeah. Yeah. Go ahead.”
Choi Han immediately answered.
The Heavenly Demon looked at Choi Han in shock after hearing him speak so affectionately, but Raon sighed.
“Haaaa.”
Choi Han flinched.
The Heavenly Demon wondered if this really was the same guy who had been interrogating So Hee.
‘You don't need to worry about dying.’
‘But you better not tell me you want to die either.’
‘That is not something you get to decide anymore.’
The bastard who had said such vicious words to So Hee was acting so anxious.
“Follow me for now.”
Flap, flap-
Raon turned around and slowly flapped his wings as he led Cale's group inside.
“…….”
Choi Han looked a bit sullen as he slowly followed Raon.
“Ho-”
The Heavenly Demon was in disbelief but he followed Cale for now.
He then sent a sound transmission.
– I guess that egg is not showing any signs of hatching any time soon?
The Dragon half-blood, Eden Miru.
The Heavenly Demon had seen his last moments.
The bright light that exploded while wrapped around Dragon Lord Neo…
‘It was extraordinary.’
When he saw Eden Miru extend his life as an egg inside this game world… The Heavenly Demon had been full of expectations.
He was curious to know how strong Eden Miru would be.
“…….”
The Heavenly Demon stared at Cale, who showed no reactions to his sound transmission, before looking elsewhere.
Cale didn’t show much reaction despite feeling the Heavenly Demon looking away.
He realized something from Raon and Hong’s actions.
‘I guess some issue must have come up.’
Raon and Hong would not be acting like this simply because Eden Miru had yet to hatch.
He was certain that something had happened.
But he also knew that it was not an issue that was extremely urgent as they had not sent an emergency message to Cale in the palace.
‘What could it be?’
The Dragon half-blood.
‘Something must have happened to that guy, right?’
Honestly speaking, there was something that worried Cale.
Eden Miru had originally been a living creature outside the game.
But he was starting a new life as an egg in this game world.
Even though New World was like the real world, it was still just Virtual Reality.
Maybe that change in environment caused some issues with Eden Miru?
‘Mm.’
Cale had a stoic look on his face but his mind was quite the mess right now.
His opinion was the one that held the most sway in turning the Dragon half-blood like this.
Flaaaaap-
Raon stopped weakly flapping his wings and spoke to the other side of the door.
“I brought our human.”
“Okay. Come in.”
He heard On’s voice.
‘Hmm?
She sounds relaxed?’
Cale noticed that On's voice was the same as usual and his eyes clouded over.
On's inner thoughts were not easy to read because she was mature like an adult, but she had a specific way of speaking when she was sad.
It was a tone that came up despite her acting as if she was fine.
Cale's eyes sparkled as he knew about her little trait.
‘What is going on? Did they find a treasure or something?’
The Heavenly Demon, who was observing Cale, could not hide his shock.
Chhh.
Hong and Raon opened the door at that moment.
“Hmm?”
Alberu tilted his head to one side.
“?”
Choi Han’s face looked just as confused.
“…What the hell? It looks the same?”
The Heavenly Demon’s casual voice echoed in the room.
The egg was wrapped in a flower-patterned cloth, placed on top of an extremely expensive looking cushion and blanket.
The egg looked fine.
This was why Choi Han and Alberu were confused.
Visibly, they did not see any issues.
It was at that moment.
“The problem is that it is the same.”
Rosalyn reacted to Cale’s casual voice.
“…What was the recovery rate when we last saw him?”
Cale answered her question.
“80%.”
Cale had left the egg to the children averaging ten-years-old once it reached that level and proceeded to do other things.
‘I was planning on returning to the Seventh Evil once it reached 95%.’
Cale checked Eden Miru's status window.
[Eden Miru]
[Status: yet to hatch. (Recovery rate : 80%)]
[Title: Half Human Half Dragon possessing light and time]
Eden Miru’s recovery rate had risen quite quickly until now.
‘So why is there no change now?’
“…Human, I'm not sure why it is like this.”
“…Whimper.”
As Raon and Hong’s eyes sank lower…
“I don't know either.”
On calmly responded, but Cale could tell that the corners of On’s eyes had shifted slightly down as well.
The fact that On's eyes went down like this meant that she was quite concerned.
“That’s not an issue.”
Cale spoke even more casually than usual as he approached the egg.
“Honestly speaking, the recovery rate rose too quickly until now.”
"That is true. He became an egg in a state where his soul was almost destroyed. It was miraculous that the recovery rate went up so quickly.”
Rosalyn quickly played along.
“I suppose everything grows slower near the end because development becomes more difficult the farther you go along.”
Alberu added on as well.
“…….”
Choi Han didn’t say anything and just slowly walked up to Cale’s side.
All of the adults, other than the Heavenly Demon, crouched down near the blanket Eden Miru’s egg was on.
“Human, but it isn’t even clacking anymore!”
Eden Miru.
An egg that had a profound and mysterious pattern in black, white gold, and purple.
That egg wasn't even clacking.
“It’s understandable.”
Cale nonchalantly commented before petting On, Hong, and the Raon’s head. His firm pat made the eyes of the children averaging ten-years-old slowly rise up.
“He must be sleeping.”
The ears of the children averaging ten-years-old perked up with interest at Cale's comment.
“Yeah. My dongsaeng is right. He’s going to need a lot of strength to break through the egg. He’s probably sleeping in preparation.”
“That's right. The recovery rate just temporarily halted. It hasn’t gone down, so there should be no issues.”
Alberu and Rosalyn quickly played along.
– Cale. Isn't it a big deal if it stops?
– Young master Cale, shouldn’t we head to the Seventh Evil right away to show it to the Heinous Dark Bear? The fact that the recovery that has gone well until now has stopped means that a variable has occurred.
But both of them were using magic to say all sorts of things into Cale's mind.
‘These adults!’
Cale almost scowled but he held back.
“Huuuuuu.”
He just sighed.
He reached out his hand.
“Hey.”
His hand headed toward the egg wrapped in a flower-patterned swaddle.
He thought to himself as he did that.
‘Do I need to go to the Seventh Evil?’
Should he go ask the Dark Bear?
‘Or maybe Sheritt-nim?’
Maybe he should ask Eruhaben-nim or the Dragons?
How does a Dragon egg hatch?
“Eden Miru. What’s up with you?”
Shh.
Just as Cale’s hand touched the egg…
Paaaat!
A black, white gold, and purple mixed light shot out.
“H, human!”
[Status: yet to hatch. (Recovery rate : 80%)]
Yes, it was at 80%, but…
[Status: yet to hatch. (Recovery rate : 82%)]
[Status: yet to hatch. (Recovery rate : 85%)]
89%.
92%.
“The recovery rate is shooting up, nya!”
“Our human just touched it and the recovery rate is shooting up!”
“I think he is about to hatch soon, nya!”
The children averaging ten-years-old became rowdy.
“… Haha-”
Choi Han awkwardly laughed.
“Pfft.”
Alberu sneered as if he figured something out.
As for the Heavenly Demon and Rosalyn, they were looking at Cale with extremely amused looks on their faces.
And Cale-
Riiiiing~
He heard a ringing in his ear.
“…….”
[An Event Quest has appeared!]
An event had popped up for Cale.
What was a precious quest that only a select few of the New World users could receive.
Yes, it was this sort of event quest.
“…This motherfucking game.”
Recovery rate 94%.
The number shot up like crazy and words appeared in front of Cale.
[Event Quest: ‘The Birth of a New Evil’]
[The future ruler of the Seventh Evil is about to hatch.]
[The birth of a legend that all of the Seventh Evil will accept!]
[All legends have an extraordinary story from their birth!]
[Please create one page of that legend!]
“…Hey.”
Cale was gritting his teeth as he spoke.
“You, were you waiting for me because you couldn’t give the kids the quest?”
Eden Miru shouldn’t have made the quest, but he should have known that the quest existed.
At least Cale felt quite certain about that.
Clack.
Eden Miru responded.
“Human! Clack, Eden Miru clacked!”
"Wow! He finally moved, nya!”
“I think he will hatch soon, nya!”
‘…Fuck.’
The moment Cale clenched his eyes shut…
“Recovery rate 95%!”
His eyes opened wide at Raon’ cheery comment.
95%.
That was the level he was originally planning on returning to the Seventh Evil.
“Human, let’s go to the Seventh Evil now! We need to hurry!”
Ooooooooong-
Raon urgently started to cast a teleportation magic circle.
He must have been excited as his wings were flapping nonstop like the helicopter blades.
“…….”
Cale just looked up at the sky.
The Quest window followed him.
[The birth of the new leader of the Seventh Evil is scheduled to be announced throughout the entire game system.]
[Please create a story for the birth of this immense evil that would make all creatures in the Seventh Evil shiver with fear!]
[* The story will be evaluated based on the previous legend.]
[* The event progression will be displayed using the hyper-advanced system as foundation.]
[* The head of the Seventh Evil will be born once the progression reaches 100%.]
[* The reward will change based on the event completion rate. (Rank F~S)]
“Haaaaaaaaaa-”
He subconsciously sighed and commented.
“…Create a birth you would find in a legend or tale?”
There were many legends.
The births of heroes or villains in those legends were either magical or amazing.
He needed to make something like that?
“Raon. Is the teleportation magic circle completed?”
Cale had made up his mind.
“Yeah! It’s ready, human!”
A large-scale teleportation magic circle was completed already.
Raon had already been prepared.
“Contact the Seventh Evil and let Sheritt-nim know that we are coming.”
“I got it, human!”
Raon started to move quickly. Rosalyn started to help Raon while Alberu walked up to Cale.
“What is going on?”
“I got a quest.”
“The contents?”
“Create a scene for the birth of a legendary evil so that the story spreads from the Seventh Evil to the entire New World.”
“…Huh?”
Cale didn't care that Alberu was looking at him with confusion and just sighed.
He had no idea why the system gave him such a quest.
‘Well, I do have an idea.’
Each leader of the Eight Evils probably had their own stories.
However, Eden Miru did not have one.
That was why the system wanted him to create one.
It also meant that the system was basically giving Cale free reign over it.
‘It means the system is working favorably for us.’
It was highly likely that the AI dispatched by the system, One, meddled with it.
“A legend-”
The corners of Cale's lips curled up.
“Hey, Eden Miru.”
He picked up the swaddled egg and held it on his side.
“I will turn you into a great and mighty evil.”
Clack. Clack.
Eden Miru seemed to be urgently saying something.
“The reward goes from Rank F to S?
Haha.”
Cale laughed.
Clack. Clack.
The egg reacted even more intensely, but… Cale gently patted the egg.
“I'll make sure you get at least an S-Rank.”
S was the highest rank.
Clack, clack.
Hong, who had been watching the egg, tilted his head as he commented.
"The egg seems anxious, nya!”
Cale just smiled benignly and continued to pat the egg.
“He must be anxious thinking about being born soon.”
Clack, clack.
Alberu looked at the egg with pity while Cale said something else to Raon and Rosalyn who were trying to contact the Dark Bear.
“Raon. Ask Sheritt-nim to have that bastard, Clopeh Sekka, come over as well.”
“I got it, human!”
Raon quickly answered while Rosalyn and the other adults flinched.
Cale gently smiled and responded to the gazes of the adults.
"That guy knows the most about legends. We have to call the expert.
Haha-”
Cale laughed, and…
Clack, clack.
Eden Miru was intensely sharing his thoughts.
[Recovery rate 95.2%]
[Birth Ceremony Progression 0%]
[Reward rank undetermined]
“Haha-”
Cale looked at the slowing down recovery rate and decided to go all out if he was going to do it.
‘It’s not even my own birth ceremony, it is for Eden Miru.’
“Birth is something that should be celebrated. I’ll make sure it is cool and grand.”
Cale smiled extremely benignly as he patted the egg.
C, c, cl, lack-
The egg faintly delivered its will as if it had given up.
